Axie Infinity integrated into Samsung Blockchain Wallet
Owners of one of the newest Samsung devices will now find Axie Infinity in the Samsung Blockchain Wallet. The pet collecting blockchain game is standard integrated into the software. It’s listed in the ‘Dapp’ section and can be played through a Web3 browser. The game studio announced the partnership on Monday.
In addition players can trade their Axies straight from the Samsung Blockchain Wallet. The wallet recently added support for a variety of ERC20 tokens, stablecoins and bitcoin. Axies are non-fungible tokens on the Ethereum blockchain, and can therefore also be loaded into the wallet.
Samsung Blockchain Wallet can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store. The blockchain wallet only works with a select number of Galaxy products: the Galaxy S10 series, Note 10 series, Galaxy Fold and Galaxy A90 5G. According to the announcement the availability of the services may vary per country and mobile carrier.
The team behind Axie Infinity is currently working on a mobile app. The app will benefit from the partnership with Samsung. This collaboration with Samsung is the second major step in a short time.
What is Axie Infinity?
Axie Infinity is a digital pet game centered around collecting, training, raising, and battling fantasy creatures called Axie. Each Axie has unique genetic data stored on the Ethereum blockchain. In addition each of those monsters has six out of hundreds possible body parts, and these have their own battle features.
Gamers will need a bit of ethereum and a digital wallet like Metamask for Desktop or a Coinbase wallet for mobile. After that they can buy their own Axies and start creating new creatures or battle other players.
Once you have an Axie, you need to take care of it. You can do activities like feeding, bathing, and putting to it bed. In addition you can decorate their terrarium to live in, do some mini-games, or of course find a mate at the Mating Club. Once you have three Axies, you can form a battle team. The more Axies you have, the more versatility you’ll have while picking your team.
Lots of growth on the horizon
Earlier this year, the developers raised over 3 thousand ethereum to build Lunacia — an open-world with a land system where players are able to attack resource stations to harvest in-game currencies and tokens. In addition, land in Lunacia allows for user-generated content. This will enable third party developers to add their creations and experiences to the Axie universe.
Axie Infinity recently became a validator for the Loom network. This is a sidechain that functions as a second layer to the Ethereum blockchain. This means that Loom will take care of big amounts of transactions, and only sends the outcome of all those transactions to the Ethereum blockchain.
In September the company also announced a partnership with the South Korean internet behemoth Kakao. Axie Infinity will launch its game on the Klaytn blockchain.
