Dutch ticketing service joins up with Kakao

Blockchain-powered ticketing service GET Protocol has announced its joining Kakao’s Klaytn network. This South Korean network already reaches 80% of the South Korean population, adding lots of mainstream reach and adoption potential to the ticketing service. GET Protocol and Kakao announced to collaboration on Wednesday.

GET Protocol is currently mainly active in The Netherlands, having provided ticketing services to several high-profile acts and concerts. This blockchain solution for ticketing is supposed to battle against fraud and secondhand ticket-sellers.

The collaboration between GET Protocol and Kakao isn’t particular weird, as Kakao is looking for partners who want to use their blockchain solutions. Besides GET Protocol, the company revealed another eight service partners. Among them are loyalty services, social dating apps, a voxel graphic design community, health record management software, e-scooter sharing technology and a blockchain-based database management toolkit.

Kakao is currently still testing its Klaytn blockchain, but is planning to release the service in June. Social messaging application Kakao Talk will be among the company’s first apps running on the network.
