German exchange launched crypto trading app

Germany’s second largest stock exchange Boerse Stuttgart Group has launched its own crypto trading app. The app is called Bison, and was developed by FinTech Sowa Labs, which is a subsidiary of Boerse Stuttgart Digital Ventures. The app currently offers free-of-charge trading in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and XRP. The Bison app is meant for investors there are used to trading in more traditional markets.

There are more companies involved in this project as well. Blocknox will act as a custodian for user’s funds, using an escrow system. While SolarisBank will take care of payments in euro and other fiat custodial services.

Bison is currently only available in Germany. The app also only work from 6 till 12 in the morning. Boerse Stuttgart Group is planning to offer a 24 hours per day service at a later time, while access for all European countries will be added by the end of 2019.

Boerse Stuttgart Group and their Bison app is just one example of stock exchanges showing interest in the cryptocurrency space. Exchanges in Thailand and Hong Kong are launching their own crypto apps this year, while the much anticipated Bakkt app from the New York Stock Exchange is launching soon as well. Bakkt even completed a 182.5 million dollar investment round.
