Indian technology company Tech Mahindra will implement its blockchain-powered anti-spam call solution by the end of this month. This technology applies with strict rules of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRIA), which protects mobile phone subscribers from unwanted spam calls. Tech Mahindra worked on the blockchain solution together with Microsoft.

The new regulations will affect 800 million subscribers. The blockchain technology will store and share data about user’s incoming contact settings. This will tell company’s whether they are allowed to call a customer or not.

News about the partnership between Microsoft and Tech Mahindra became public in August last year. This is just one of many blockchain products Microsoft is working on. The company is also building its own Azure cloud service on blockchain, while its also involved in the development of a digital identity management solution, and projects for managing copyrights and loyalties.
