Microsoft is working on new technologies all the time, and of the departments within the tech behemoth is working on artificial intelligence powered by the Ethereum blockchain. The company announced their ideas in a newly published blog. The technology is supposed to make AI and machine learning accessible for more people worldwide.

Machine learning and AI can already by open source, but the resources that are needed are still difficult to come by. Building AI on blockchain technology helps Microsoft to build a level of trust, security and implement incentives for people contributing to the system. Blockchain-powered smart contracts are set in place to maintain the consensus in the platform.

Microsoft can build the same technology in their own Azure cloud services. But the problem is hidden in ‘trust’. Centralized organizations like Microsoft are often build on profit and not on service.

However, currently this framework on the Ethereum-blockchain is mainly designed for small models. As blockchain technology advances, Microsoft anticipates that more applications for collaborations between people and computers models will come into existence. Scaling is still an issue if you want to deploy a worldwide system used by millions.
