Opera now supports Ethereum, Bitcoin and Tron
The latest update to the Opera web browser adds support for Tron to its build-in wallet. In addition users can now also use bitcoin to pay directly from their wallet. As a result Opera’s wallet now supports Ethereum, Bitcoin and Tron, and allows users also to access decentralized applications on these networks. Opera announced the integration of Bitcoin and Tron on Tuesday.
At the moment Opera has over 350 million users worldwide. Opera started as a web browser 20 years ago, and has been surpassed by Google Chrome, Safari and others. However, it’s the first major browser company to incorporate crypto functionalities directly. Opera supports Web 3.0 developments by embracing cryptocurrencies and decentralized apps.
In addition the browser has a free VPN service, an integrated ad blocker, private mode and messaging system. Opera is available in different version for desktop systems and mobile devices.
“Opera is one of the most important software companies in the world. They are bringing security, privacy, and dynamic cryptocurrency capabilities to hundreds of millions of users”

Other browsers still using extensions
Opera announced their support for cryptocurrencies last year when they launched an ethereum wallet into their browser. Since then the company has launched more products and updates that are ready for Web 3.0 and support cryptocurrencies and dApps.
At the same time browsers like Chrome still require extensions. Web 3.0 apps like Metamask and Tron Link allows users to access decentralized apps and their wallets. The only browser that also has crypto functionalities build into its core, is Brave. This browser supports a variety of cryptocurrencies and allows users to earn and tip BAT.
Brave claimed earlier this month that the company has 2.8 million active users per day. In addition the company announced a few months ago that its browser was installed on 30 million devices worldwide. Even though that’s a small amount compared with Opera’s 350 million users, Brave has seen lots of growth this year.
