Thanks to Lite.IM adding support for bitcoin in the messenger application, it’s now possible to send bitcoin to your Facebook friends. App developer Zulu Republic announced support for BTC, making it the fourth currency on the Lite.IM platform. The chat application already supports LTC, ETH and ZRX.

In Lite.IM users can send, receive and manage their bitcoin wallets. These are secured with a password in the app. This is not the best way for saving your coins long term, but it works fine when you have the intention to spend it.

The app from Zulu Republic works with popular messaging platforms like Facebook Messenger and Telegram. It’s even capable of using SMS, even though that services currently only works in the US and Canada.
