UK travel management firm accepts bitcoin
UK-based travel management company Corporate Traveller is now accepting bitcoin and bitcoin cash as a payment option. The company announced this earlier this week. Last year Corporate Traveller sold over half a million flight tickets and hotel room bookings across 1367 destinations in 188 different countries, making it one of the biggest travel management companies in the United Kingdom.
Bitpay is taking care of the crypto payments. Corporate Traveller is not concerned with price volatility, as crypto payments will be immediately converted into British pounds. Even though Bitpay takes one percent commission on each transaction, the travel management company is happy with that because it’s still cheaper than credit card companies.
Bitpay serves a wide variety of businesses worldwide. In 2018 the payment processing company dealt with over one billion dollars in transactions. This would mean the company made at least 10 million dollars in revenue.
Bitpay has signed with a variety of organizations, including American government services for processing tax payments, Dish Networks, HackerOne and the Wikimedia Foundation. Bitpay received a virtual currency license from the state of New York in July 2018, making it one of the officially recognized payment processors for crypto.
